No new information was released on Amitabh Bachchan’s health by the Lilavati Hospital even as its vice-president Dr Narendra Trivedi addressed a 90-second news conference. He, however, did not take any questions from the media.

The release contained, among other things, the names of doctors who formed the medical team responsible for Amitabh’s treatment. The names of Dr JB Agarwal and Dr Sadanand Shetty did not figure in the list. The names mentioned were: Dr P Jagannath, Dr Rajiv Shah, Dr Satish Kulkarni and Dr Prakash Jiandani.

Hospital spokesperson Vaishali Rajbara said, “There were several doctors who participated in Bachchan’s treatment. We could not mention all in the release.” Asked if the two were left out by mistake, she said, “Not exactly. The important ones were in the news release.”

Dr JB Agarwal said, “I was very much there in the team, but I do not wish to say anything more.” And Dr Sadanand Shetty said, “Since I was not there at the conference, I can’t comment.” Also, there were rumours that either Amitabh or a family member would be present at the news meet, which proved to be a false alarm.
