Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan today said that a committee of ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) has recommended that permission be granted to Lavasa Corporation to carry out their work on 2000 hectares of land.
"The recommendation for granting permission has been made after they fulfil 34 pre-conditions. Similarly, the committee has asked for action against the company for carrying out works on 691 hectares without permission. Action does not mean demolition," Chavan told reporters here.
He said Ajit Gulabchand, chairman of the Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) met him today to discuss the conditions.
"We expect the company to fulfil the pre-conditions and continue work, because it is a big project for Maharashtra," Chavan added.
