The last Maharashtra State MBA Common Entrance Test (CET) was conducted on Sunday, with 97.4% of the 85,000 registered examinees taking the test. While the results will be declared on April 16, the score will be considered for the admission for the 42,165 MBA seats and the 12,050 post-graduate diploma in management seats in the state.

Stating that 9,000 management studies aspirants took the test at centres outside the state, SK Mahajan, director, directorate of technical education, which administers the exam, said this is the last year of the state MBA-CET. “From next year, the common management admission test (CMAT) will take over,” he added.

About the fall in the number of candidates registering for the state MBA-CET from last year’s 1,40,000, a DTE official said it was natural. “Most colleges that earlier considered state CET score for admissions have already given their nod to the CMAT scores,” he added.
