Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab, who was today awarded the death penalty and life sentence on five counts each, was also sentenced to imprisonment ranging from one month to seven years under various Acts.

Special Judge ML Tahaliyani also fined Kasab Rs1,63,300 for the offences committed under various sections of different Acts.

Kasab, the lone surviving gunman in the Mumbai terror attack, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment each for robbery with an attempt to cause death or hurt, possession of arms and ammunition and crimes under Customs Act.

He was given five years rigorous imprisonment each for causing grievous hurt to deter a public servant from performing his duty, voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant, robbery, robbery with an attempt to cause death or hurt, mischief by fire or explosives and offences covered under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

The court sentenced Kasab to one year each on two counts under the Railways Act and Arms Act and for wrongful confinement.
