Mahantesh Kardalli, who suffered financial losses following the fall in the Sensex, was apprehended from Gulbarga, deputy police commissioner (ATS) Pradeep Sawant said.

A share broker from Karnataka was today arrested for allegedly sending e-mails threatening to blow up the Bombay Stock Exchange, Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad (ATS) said.
Mahantesh Kardalli, a commerce graduate, was apprehended from Gulbarga, deputy police commissioner (ATS) Pradeep Sawant said.
The 23-year-old had sent threatening emails to an BSE email ID, he said.
Kardalli was handed over to the cyber cell of Mumbai police, which had registered an FIR in this connection.
In the mails, he had said bomb attacks will take place on January 24 and 27. BSE's security officer Jeevan Norava informed his superiors about them following which an FIR was registered, they said.
The ATS, conducting a parallel investigation, nabbed the accused and handed him over to the Cyber Cell.
Kardalli, who suffered financial losses following the fall in the Sensex, had sent the mails using his Internet data card from kkfarooq1010@rediffmail.com, created by him on January 21 on his friend's name Farooq, police said.
Investigations traced the ID to Karnataka and Kardalli was questioned and subsequently rounded up, they said, adding further probe was on.
