The crime branch investigation officer, who conducted a probe into arrested matka queen Jaya Bhagat’s allegedly unnecessary long stay in the JJ hospital, on Thursday submitted a reply in the court.  Sessions court judge RG Awchat had directed the investigation officer to conduct the probe.

“According to the reply filed by the investigation officer, the hospital has told the crime branch that Jaya needs to be kept in the hospital because her urine bag has to be changed every month,” said Vinod Bhagat, brother of the deceased Suresh Bhagat. The order on the reply is scheduled to be pronounced on May 13.

“When the court had directed Jaya three weeks ago to get her required operation done within that time and return to the jail, why has she not been operated yet? Had she been operated there would also be no need to change the urine bag every month,” said Vinod who went on to dispute why Jaya has been given a separate ward instead of admitting her in the general ward.
Vinod had filed an application in the court two months back demanding an inquiry on the reasons for Jaya’s prolonged stay in the hospital.

From the time of her arrest in July 2008, Jaya, arrested on charges of orchestrating the murder of ex-husband matka king Suresh Bhagat in 2008, has been infamous for visiting the hospital almost every month and she has been in the hospital since January 21, 2010.
