Rajendra Patil, the investigation officer in BPO employee Jyotikumari Choudhari gang rape-cum-murder case, on Friday told the court that at Wipro Technologies there is no rulebook regarding pick-up and drop facility for its employees.

Patil told the court of additional sessions judge Usha Thakare that a register is kept at the IT firm’s gate to log entry and exit of vehicles, but he did not collect the register or its extract.

“I verified the log sheet dated October, 30, 2007 bearing signature of Choudhari. Employees of Wipro Technologies and relatives of Choudhari identified her signature, but I did not send it to handwriting expert for analysis,” Patil said.

He said, “I did not feel it necessary to collect the evidence that shows in February 2006 that accused Purushottam Dasharath Borate was employed as cab driver with Wipro Technologies. I did not collect pick-up and drop sheet of October 30 to November 1, 2007 of the cab used in the crime that show how many employees were dropped by the accused Borate in these three days.” The court deferred the hearing till February 11.
