A 76-year-old woman was killed and three others sustained injuries when a wall of an old wada collapsed in the wee hours of Thursday in Ganesh Peth area.

A 76-year-old woman was killed and three others sustained injuries when a wall of an old wada collapsed in the wee hours of Thursday in Ganesh Peth area.
The deceased has been identified as Takubai Kashinath Shilimakar. Her son Dattatray (54), his wife Jayshree (50)
and daughter Prajakta (12) escaped with minor injuries.
A case of accidental death has been registered at the Faraskhana police station. Senior inspector Anant Rajeshirke of Faraskhana
police station told DNA, “The wada was an old structure and only six families were living in six different rooms. Earlier, the families were alerted about the possibility of such an incident.” The fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the four. The injured were taken to Sassoon General Hospital, where Takubai was declared dead on arrival. The others were released after medical treatment.
