Diamond firm worker arrested in Mumbai

The Crime Branch on Thursday arrested the employee of a diamond trading firm Jeetendra Kumar Chaurasia on charges of duping his employer of Rs 45lakh in cash along with his three accomplices.

“On April 27, Rakeshkumar Sen and his four employees had gone to Zaveri Bazaar in his car and had made collection of R45lakh from clients. Sen went to make further collection and asked the four to take care of the bag, kept in the car. On returning after few minutes, he found them missing from the spot along with the bag containing cash. Sen lodged a complaint with the LT Marg police station,” said an officer from LT Marg police station, requesting anonymity.

According to the police, complainant Sen, who runs Latest Diamonds at Bhattwadi in Girgaum area, met Jeetendra Kumar Chaurasia and three of his friends while travelling to work on a local train. LT Marg police are on the lookout for Chaurasia’s accomplices and are looking to recover the stolen property.
