Kolhapur: One more woman succumbed to Dengue at a private hospital here taking the overall disease toll in the city to seven, health officials said today.

Anjali Salokhe (43) died of Dengue after she was admitted to the hospital with fever. Her condition deteriorated and she breathed her last yesterday, doctors attending on her said.

In the last ten days the city has witnessed three dengue and four Gastroenteritis deaths, officials said.

Rising pollution in Panchganga river is resulting in increased epidemic deaths here, following which BJP and Sena activists met Kolhapur Municipal Corporation commissioner and urged him to direct the civic body officials to launch a cleanliness drive in the city ensuring supply of pure drinking water and carry out pest control in filthy areas.
