A day after Bombay high court transferred the case involving Maharashtra’s industries minister Narayan Rane’s son Nitesh Rane to CBI, Nitesh spoke exclusively with DNA calling the transfer of case to CBI as ‘blessing in disguise.’

“I welcome the court’s decision to transfer this case to CBI. Let them call me for an interrogation and that will be my chance to expose the people who are funding Chintu Sheikh and have set up the entire conspiracy. Our sting operations of Chintu and the conspirators will be released in front of CBI and that will expose people responsible for the entire episode,” said Rane.

“This is nothing but a political conspiracy created by the Shiv Sena. They want to take me out of BMC election equation by hook or by crook, so they have found this small scale criminal to help them,” he said.

Nitesh, president of NGO called Swabhiman Sanghtana was accused of firing bullet at Chintu Sheikh, the former worker of his NGO. Sheikh, who was a member of the NGO then, had moved the high court seeking a CBI probe, saying that Narayan Rane, a Congress leader and a cabinet minister, was interfering in the probe. The state had later handed over the probe to the crime branch.

Swabhiman according to Rane has become threat to Sena since he can even support Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). “Why shouldn’t I support him? We have to support the alternative. And I will support to those who work,” he said.
Rane mentioned that his side of the story never came to the light. “Nevertheless, the case is with CBI now and I am confident that truth will come out,” he said.
