The Malad police arrested the owner of a ‘job consultancy’ firm on Thursday for allegedly duping people by luring them with a “lucrative job”.

Anil Kamble, 31, ran ‘M/S Job Solutions’, which promised to pay people for delivering its consignments abroad. He was arrested after a law student, Fakruddin Chotu Sultan Khan, 23, lodged a complained against him. A search is on for another suspect Tasneem Vora, alias Tanvi, who is suspected to be in Dubai.

Khan, a student of Gopaldas Advani Law College, saw the company’s advertisement offering a “lucrative” job opportunity. “On July 2, I visited Kamble and he said he will send me to different countries with consignments of garments and chemicals,” he said. “He asked me for my passport and Rs85,000.” Kamble promised him Rs5,000 for every delivery he made.

Khan gave his passport and Rs45,000 on August 7, 2008, to Kamble. After that, he started avoiding Khan. On June 19, when the cops confronted him, Kamble said he would return the money to Khan and compensate for the passport, which he had lost. “On June 22, the cheque of Rs48,000 he gave Khan bounced,” senior inspector Maruti Rathod said.
