Congo student falls from building, dies

A student hailing from Congo died after falling off the top floor of an 11-storey building in Pimple Saudagar in the wee hours of Sunday.

About 15 students from Congo were having a party in the apartment, when the incident took place. The police identified the deceased as Bumba Sinanduku Dieudonne (25), who was staying in Pimple Saudagar. He was pursuing an English language course at the University of Pune.

According to the Sangvi police, the incident took place in F Wing of Ganesham Phase II, at around 3 am. According to the police, the reason for the party was not clear, but some students claimed that it was a birthday party organised for one of them.

The students were playing loud music and were allegedly consuming alcohol.

The noisy party angered the local residents and they complained to the watchman. The watchman of the building called up the police control room, and a police van reached the spot at around 3 am.

Hearing the sound of a police van, all the students scrambled to hide in the building. Bumba chose a duct located near the garbage chute of the building, fell into it and landed on the first-floor roof, where the duct ended.

In the morning, the police broke down the wall of the duct and extricated his body. The police said he died of multiple injuries after the fall. The police have recorded statements of other students.25-year-old panics after police action
