The road from the Dighi Magazine Chowk going to Alandi will be open to one-way traffic for six days from Monday, for the Kartiki Ekadashi mela.

The traffic police have made alterations since there is a huge crowd of devotees from all over the state during the period in Alandi.

Considering the crowd, the traffic police feel that the Dighi Magazine Chowk, Dehu Phata and Bhosari Road would be heavily congested and would cause jams for long durations. To avoid these, the traffic department has decided to make the road one-way till the mela gets over.

According to the traffic department, people travelling from Pune towards Devachi Alandi will have to take the Dighi Magazine Chowk. People travelling from Alandi towards Pune will have to use the road from Dehu Phata, Moshi Gaon, Bhosari, Nashik Road to Nashik Phata to reach Pune.

The department has issued a notice which says, “If the traffic increases, heavy vehicles would be barred from using the road towards Alandi. The drivers should cooperate with us.’’
