Some schools said the delay was because the examination have been the first after the introduction of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), the new evaluation system introduced by CBSE. “Generally, the results are always on time.
But this year, maybe because of several new educational reforms, the evaluation process was delayed,” said a principal, from a prominent CBSE school in Chembur.
CBSE officials admit that the announcement of results has been delayed, but did not want to comment on the issue. “Preparation of results was more tedious than ever before. This may be gauged from the fact that every student’s results are spread across four sheets. The results for students who had taken the board exams were being prepared simultaneously,” said one of them under the condition of anonymity.
Another officer attributed the delay to the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) paper leak. “The entire machinery was involved in organising the paper all over again, which made the evaluation and assessment work suffer,” she said.
To speed up the process, apart from employees of the school, some school teachers were also involved to get the work done faster. “We tried our best to announce the results of classes X and XII as soon as possible. All of us worked even at nights to ensure that the students do not have to wait any longer. Some school teachers have also been involved in the process,” added the CBSE official.
