The state on Thursday told the Bombay high court that absconding dismissed police officer Arun Borude has committed an offence of ‘moral turpitude, unbecoming of a police officer’.

An affidavit was filed by assistant commissioner of police Narsing Sherkhane opposing Borude’s anticipatory bail plea stating that he does not deserve relief. Sherkhane said that despite being in-charge of LT Marg police station, Borude has abstained from duty since November 8 and has not been available for probe.

Borude, who resides in flat A-403 of Emerald cooperative housing society, broke open the seal of the adjoining flat, A-404, which was also used for raping the minor, states the affidavit.

Further, that when Borude’s name surfaced in the rape case, he shifted all his belongings from A-404 to another flat, C-102 in the same society. Subsequently, he transferred them to a garage situated on DN Nagar Road. Sherkhane’s affidavit states that despite the sessions court granting him interim protection, he failed to appear before the court.

Justice RC Chavan, before whom the matter came up, adjourned the court to December 20, 2010. Borude had filed anticipatory bail application last week.
