The government on Thursday told the Bombay high court that all police stations are connected with internet and after two months others across Maharashtra will also be connected.
The division bench had suggested that there should be email facility in all police stations and offices to ensure speedy communication. Their observations came after a police officer from Kolhapur submitted that he could not remain present in court on November 19 as he did not receive the summons on time.
Public prosecutor PA Pol told the court that all police stations in Mumbai are presently e-connected. “In the next two months, it will be done for the rest of the state,” he added. The judges were hearing a petition filed by Mahadev Ghodake, a scrap dealer from Kolhapur who had alleged police inaction in a cheating case.
