After Viveka Babajee, another model ends her life at Yari Road

While mystery continues to shroud Viveka Babajee’s death, another model allegedly committed suicide on Sunday.

Natasha Padbidri, 30, a small-time model, hanged herself from a dupatta in the bedroom of her flat at Petricorn building at Yari Road, the Versova police said.

Padbidri was suffering from depression, which may have triggered the suicide, the police said.

Relatives told the police that Padbidri had bagged a couple of modelling assignments, but had not been doing well professionally. “It appears she was depressed as she wasn’t satisfied with her professional life. We are probing other angles, including a love angle and financial difficulties,” said a senior police official on condition of anonymity.

Police said the victim’s parents lived in an adjoining flat. The incident came to light when her brother knocked on the door but there was no response. Worried, the family broke open the door and found Padbidri’s body hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom.

On June 25, supermodel Viveka Babajee had allegedly hanged herself at her Bandra residence. Babajee, who featured in several advertisements and a couple of Bollywood films, was suffering from depression. The post-mortem report said Babajee took anti-depressants, sleeping pills, drank alcohol, and smoked several cigarettes before hanging herself.
