78 engineer officers graduate from CME

Seventy-eight engineer officers of the Indian Army graduated from the 101 Engineer Officers Degree Engineering (EODE) and the 14 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) of the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, on Tuesday.

Seventy-eight engineer officers of the Indian Army graduated from the 101 Engineer Officers Degree Engineering (EODE) and the 14 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) of the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, on Tuesday.

The officers were handed their BTech degrees of the Jawaharlal Nehru University by Lt Gen MC Badhani, engineer-in-chief of the Indian Army, at the CME.

Badhani congratulated the officers and complimented the CME for the excellent teaching faculty, the training and various other facilities that provided the necessary support to the graduating students. The General urged the young officers to contribute to nation building.

Major SS Nigde and Major Diwan Singh bagged the gold medals for the civil and electrical engineering streams respectively, while Lt Rakesh Singh bagged gold in the TES course.
Annual day at APS

The Army Public School (APS), Pune, celebrated its annual day at the Dhanvantri Auditorium of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) on Wednesday. Maj Gen YC Tharakan, patron of the school, was the chief guest and his wife, Lizzy Tharakan, gave away the prizes.

APS Pune was ranked second among APS in India for class XII Board examinations. APS Pune’s quiz team secured the first runner-up position at the all-India APS quiz competition.
Bonanza for Military Farm school
The Southern Command handed over a donation of Rs5 lakh to the Khadki-based Military Farm High School, a Hindi-medium primary and high school run by the Army.

The school is a boon for non-Marathi speaking people in Khadki and
imparts free education. The cheque was handed over by Maj Gen KS Venugopal of the Southern Command.
