Two men who planted bombs in Mumbai on July 13 last had left their rented flat on November 30, the day when Delhi Police claimed to have smashed a pan-India terror module with arrest of six suspected Indian Mujahideen operatives, including a Pakistani, said Maharashtra ATS on Monday.

"The day when the Delhi Police stated that they have arrested terror suspects, the two planters locked their apartment in Byculla and ran away. They did not return since then," said ATS chief Rakesh Maria.

On November 30, Delhi Police had claimed to have smashed an "Indian Mujahideen terrorist module suspected to be involved in Pune German Bakery blast, Chinnaswamy stadium blast and Jama Masjid firing and blast in a car with the help of Central intelligence agencies."

The arrested had been identified as Mohd Adil, a Pakistani national, Mohd Qateel Siddique, Mohd Irshad Khan, Gauhar Aziz Khomani, Gayur Ahmad Jamali and Abdur Rehman, police said.

The wanted accused in July 13 blasts, identified as only 'A' and 'B', had planted bombs at Zaveri Bazaar and Opera house, according to ATS, which did not say who planted the explosives at Dadar, the third blast site.

The wanted accused had enrolled in a gym in south Mumbai in the evening so that they can survey the areas and identity targets. They had decided to execute the blasts at "business districts" during evening rush hours, ATS claimed.

The accused told their landlady that they were working in a call centre, ATS sources said.

During their stay here, the accused rarely interacted with neighbours, said a resident of the building which houses the apartment. "We are shocked to hear that our building was the place where the bombs were assembled to kill so many people."
