While one of the two wanted planters in the 13/7 blast case is on the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) radar, the trail of the other planter is lost, sources said. Also, while the central intelligence agencies believe that Yasin Bhatkal, the Indian Mujahideen operative and mastermind of the 13/7 Mumbai blasts, has sneaked into Nepal, the ATS still suspect he could be hiding somewhere in the country.

According to the sources, the ATS sleuths, who have been gathering information about Yasin and the planters from the two arrested persons, Naqi Ahmed and Nadeem Shaikh, are working on the information along with the central intelligence agencies. “We have been able to gather some information about the planters, but one of them is off the police radar as of now. We don’t know whether he is still in the country,” said a source, refusing to reveal details about the other planter.

As per the central intelligence sources, Yasin, who allegedly had assembled the bomb used in the Mumbai blasts, has fled to Nepal some time ago, even as the ATS believes he could be hiding somewhere in north India. “Our best chances of getting hold of Yasin Bhatkal and through them, the two planters of the 13/7 case, was lost when Naqi Ahmed was picked up by the ATS,” said an officer of the Delhi Police.

Earlier on Saturday, the ATS arrested 33-year old Manzar Hasan for his alleged role in the SIM card racket, as the SIM cards were found to be used by the 13/7 bombers. Hasan is the eleventh person to be arrested in the case, in which Naqi and Nadeem are already arrested. “We have seized over 2,700 bogus documents and some photographs in past one week, all of which were to be used for procurement of SIM cards by the gang,” said an ATS officer.
