127 army jawans pass out with engineering diplomas

Havaldar Roshan Lal, Naik R Gowri Ganesh and Naik T Rajina were awarded the coveted silver medals for standing first in civil, electrical and architecture streams of the centenary diploma in engineering course of the College of Military Engineering (CME).
In a glittering ceremony held inside the Sarvatra Hall of the CME on Saturday morning, Lt Gen SS Sengupta, commandant, CME, awarded scrolls to 127 jawans including three students from friendly foreign countries of Maldives and Cambodia.

Lt Gen Sengupta also unveiled a centenary trophy and released two special MES Handbooks on the occasion.

After two years of intensive training, these students got the diploma in civil engineering (DCE-100), electrical & mechanical engineering (DEM-100) and architecture assistance ship (DAA-82). Diplomas were also awarded to Outsourced Diploma Courses (DEM-100) from MEG Bangalore, (DCE-100) from BEG Roorkee and BEG Khadki.

Lt Gen Sengupta in his valedictory address congratulated the students on acquiring their diplomas and advised them to carry out their duties in a sincere manner keeping in mind that they will be part of the principal service provider organisation.

He also emphasised on the value of positive thought and action while carrying out their duties as Junior Engineers (JEs) in Military Engineering Service (MES) and the Border Roads.
