A 45-year-old woman was found murdered under mysterious circumstances on Juhu beach early on morning. The deceased, identified as Samin Salim Khan, had stab wounds on her body and was found by morning walkers who alerted the police.
A police team rushed to the spot and found a bag abandoned near Khan's body. The police said that a case of murder has been registered against unidentified person(s) and investigations are on in the case.
According to police, Khan is a resident of the Nehru Nagar slums in Juhu. She was residing with her husband Salim and two children.
"The woman had three deep wounds on her neck, thigh and elbow. From the nature of her injuries, it appears that the assailant was armed with a sharp object like a knife," said a police officer from Juhu police station.
"Motive behind the murder is yet not clear. We have questioned her family members but they too are unaware as to why she went to Juhu beach or what could be the reason behind her killing," said senior police inspector Rajendra Chavan.
"We have picked several people for interrogation. We are also questioning several sex workers who frequently visit Juhu beach at night just to know if anyone had witnessed the incident," said another officer.
