Industrialist Ness Wadia on Wednesday submitted the contact details of the nine witnesses, whose names he had provided to the police last week. Wadia has been booked for molestation and criminal intimidation by the Marine Drive police after actor Preity Zinta lodged a complaint against him on June 13.
It's been nearly a month since the case was lodged but Wadia's statement has not been recorded as yet. Wadia has said there was an argument between Zinta and him over the distribution of seats at Garware Pavilion but rubbished allegations of manhandling or abusing her.
Meanwhile, sources said the actor had approached Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria a couple of weeks back in connection with the case and had submitted her medical report which stated that there were bruises on her wrists. She is also said to have submitted photographs of the same. "The photographs have BCCI watermark on them. We are trying to figure out which CCTV cameras they were taken from," a police officer said.
The police said the medical report was taken soon after the incident from a private hospital and was not submitted until recently. After the incident, Zinta flew to the US and lodged a complaint on returning. The authenticity of the medical report will be checked.
