What better way to express one's heart than via the creative medium. Salaam Bombay Foundation's annual programme 'Voices' provides school children with a platform to address crucial issues. Over 1,000 children gathered at St. Andrews auditorium, Bandra to be a part of 'Voices-2014'. In its third consecutive year, this programme saw children presenting pertinent ideas through songs, skits and posters.

More than 150 class VIII children from various Mumbai schools vied for the top spot. Judging their performance were renowned names in the field of theatre, song and art -- Rekha Nigam and Chintu Bhonsle amongst others. The event was supported by the Lotus Trust, prizes for winners sponsored by mGage while the event was powered by dna for print media support.

Devika Chadha, vice-president operations Salaam Bombay Foundation, said, "Voices encourages children to be confident and articulate by engaging them in creative activities like public speaking, skits, songs, posters etc. It is a great platform for them to express themselves and display their talent. 'Voices' also aims at sowing the seeds of social responsibility at a tender age and inculcate better values among children."

The winning entries also get an opportunity to perform on larger platforms. Winners of 'Voices 2013' performed at the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival.
