In a YouTube video that went viral on Monday, the unidentified victim took the video of the middle-aged man and is heard scolding him for alleged misdeeds. The incident took place on January 27 on an Indigo flight en route to Bhubaneswar from Mumbai. The woman alleged that the man tried to touch her through the gaps in between the seats and repeated the offence for a second time.
In the video, the woman could be heard screaming at the man as people on board prepared to alight the plane. The man could be seen trying to hide his face and apologising repeatedly as the woman video taping him, in an agitated tone, tells that she will not keep quiet.
In an official statement, Indigo airlines said "an unruly behaviour was reported... Our crew on board immediately alerted the Captain-in-command who further alerted the CISF staff and consequently an FIR was lodged in a local police station in Bhubaneswar. IndiGo is cooperating with the investigating agencies."
When contacted, the investigating officer confirmed over the phone that following a complaint, a case has been registered under section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
In another video, that seems to be taken on the airport premises, the man is seen apologising to the woman and saying that he made a mistake.
A personnel from the CISF also said that the airline had approached them after their passenger complained of a man trying to misbehave with her and they handed over the case to a local police station.
