In a classic case of pig in the poke, a Vasai woman received shock of her life when instead of the mobile phone she ordered through an shopping website, she got a few biscuit packets and a stone.

Shobha Patel, 35, on November 29 ordered for a mobile handset from a leading website and was eagerly waiting for it to be delivered. The excise executive with a private export said she was suppose to get in three days. However, her joy proved to be short-lived.

"I opened the box as soon as I received it and was shocked to see that it contained a few biscuit packets and a stone. I immediately realised that I was duped and asked the watchman of our building to catch hold of the delivery boy. However, by then he had left the premises," said Shobha recalling the horror.

"Next, I shot a mail to the online company and even they realised and acknowledged the mistake. They also assured me to send the correct product, to which I did not agree as I no longer trusted them," she added. After this incident I feel I will never opt for online shopping again.

Patel also had a word of caution for online buyers. "You should first open the packet and check whether the contents are as per your specifications or not. One should pay only after checking the product," she said.
