Vakola man shot at by lover’s brother succumbs to injuries

Ramchandra Pal, 35, who was shot at on Thursday succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at KEM Hospital. Pal had sustained three bullet injuries in the shooting at Vakola.

Vinayak Mule, a senior inspector of the Vakola police station said, “Pal’s condition was critical and on Saturday morning he succumbed to his injuries. We have now booked the accused under section 302 (murder) of the IPC.”

The police have arrested  Izhar Khan, 30, and are still searching for the accused, Khan’s nephew.

The accused had fired four rounds, out of which three hit Pal. Locals with the help of two traffic police constables nabbed Khan from a BEST bus.

Khan told the police that his sister is mentally unstable and lives in the same locality as Pal. Taking advantage of her condition Pal had physical relations with her, hearing
of which Khan decided to kill him.
