The Sahar police on Monday afternoon arrested two Bangladeshi nationals from the Mumbai airport for trying to fly to Turkey using forged passports and visas.
According to the police, both accused were attempting to fly to Turkey when immigration officers got suspicious about their documents. On verification, they were found to be forged. They were immediately apprehended and were handed over to the Sahar police.
"We are probing how and from where they obtained the forged passports and visas; whether they were part of any fake passport racket, what was their purpose of visiting Turkey and whether they were connected with criminal activities. We suspect that their identities are also fake and are questioning them to get more details," said a senior police officer adding that a case had been registered under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code.
