Upset over non-payment of dues, three youths allegedly killed a Nalasopara-based builder by slashing his throat on Monday. The Tulinj police have managed to arrest two youths, while one of them is absconding since the incident.

The victim — identified as Sanjay Jain (30), a resident of Santosh Bhuvan — was found dead with his throat slit and face smashed with a boulder. The locals saw Vishal Rajbhar (22) and Pinto Rajbhar (22) along with another youth identified as Francis.

The trio was having a heated argument with Jain, following which they slashed Jain's throat with a sharp weapon and later to confirm his death, Francis smashed his face. Jain was out on bail after he was accused of murder in 2012 and was involved into construction business since then.

"As soon as we were informed about the killing we rushed to the spot and questioned the people which led us to the youths," said a Tulinj police officer.

"We soon arrested the youths and they fumbled to reveal the exact details of their location during the time of the incident. The youths have revealed that they worked with the builder and were asking him to pay their salaries that was due for the past few months," he added.

"We have arrested two accused under section 302(murder) and 34(common intent) of the Indian Penal Code and will produce them in front of Vasai Court on Wednesday," informed Prakash Birajdar, senior inspector, Tulinj police station.
