SSC, HSC exam dates for 2013 out

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has declared the SSC and HSC examination dates for 2013.

Sarjerao Jadhav, the board chairperson, said that HSC exams would be conducted from Feb 21 to March 21, 2013. Online exams for the information technology subject of the HSC would be conducted on March 22, 23 and 25. Nearly 74,000 students take the information technology subject in Maharashtra. The SSC exams would be conducted from March 2 to March 25, 2013. The full timetable would be declared on Sunday on the MSBSHSEwebsite: www.msbshse.ac.in.

MSBSHSE started declaring the board examinationtimetable at the beginning of the session a year ago. CBSE and ICSE board declare their timetable in the month of December.

In the light of the IIT entrance examination, which is supposed to be conducted in two phases from 2013, the Council of Board of School Education (COBSE) has asked all the state boards to declare their HSC results by June 10 from next year. Jadhav, who attended the COBSE meeting on behalf of Maharashtra in Delhi on June 28 said, “We declare results much earlier than June10. In 2011, the HSC result came on May 29, while this year we declared it on May 23. In 2013, we can declare it even sooner.”

Around 14 lakh students appear in SSC and 13 lakh in HSC examinations in Maharashtra.
