SoBo family in ‘dirty picture’ row

A Cuffe Parade-based businessman has lodged a police complaint against his brother-in-law for allegedly threatening to post “objectionable” photographs of his sister and her friends.

The Cuffe Parade police said Sandeep Kedia married the complainant’s sister in 2000 and started harassing her soon after. The woman is from a well-known south Mumbai-based business family.   

When push came to shove, she moved to Dubai. But Kedia followed her there. And now, the woman’s family claims that Kedia has begun to issue threats of posting photographs of her bachelorette party, in which the woman and her friends are allegedly seen posing with sex toys, on a social networking website. Sources say Kedia, who has filed a separation plea in Dubai, wants his cut of the family’s large properties.

A Cuffe Parade police officer says one of the friends who allegedly features in the photographs has also approached the police to complain against Kedia, saying his act will “damage” her reputation. She claims that the photographs are morphed.
