The six women Congress corporators, who had been suspended for a day by mayor Snehal Ambekar for creating a ruckus at the civic body's general body meeting on Monday, were once again suspended at the general body meeting on Tuesday by the mayor for a period of 15 days.

Sheetal Mhatre, Waqarunissa Ansari, Nayana Sheth, Parul Mehta, Ajanta Yadav and Anita Yadav received suspension orders for disturbing the proceedings after they were not allowed to speak on the swine flu issue.

"A special meeting on swine flu has been organised on March 12. I asked them to discuss the swine flu issue in that meeting, but they didn't listen," Ambekar said.

The mayor added that she would be sending a proposal on the disqualification of the six corporators to the state urban development department through municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte.

However, opposition parties said it is their right to discuss any issue in the house.
