Shool bus crushes 12-year-old boy at Vikhroli

A 12-year-old boy was killed in an accident after he came under the tyre of a school bus at Kanamwar Nagar in Vikhroli (East) on Tuesday evening. The driver of the bus has been arrested by the police.

According to Vikhroli police, the deceased boy has been identified as Aseem Salim Shaikh, a student of Vikas High School in Vikhroli. Salim was cycling on Surve Marg at Kanamwar Nagar around 5:30pm when the bus of Don Bosco school came out of a lane, took a sudden right turn trapping Salim under the right back tyre.

The driver of the bus, Suresh Kotiyan, 51, was arrested by the Vikhroli police.

“The incident happened in the evening and Shaikh died at the spot after coming under the tyre of the bus. We are investigating the case to figure out how the accident happened. Till now, we have not got any eyewitness,” said Dinesh Desai, senior police inspector from Vikhroli police station.

Kotiyan was booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligence and rash driving.
