NDRF and fire department found one person dead in the building collapse at Vakola. BMC had issued notice to the building a week ago.

A seven-storey building collapsed on Friday morning in Vakola area (Santa Cruz) of Mumbai. The BMC said the building was unoccupied but it was located next to a slum area.
According to an official in the BMC Disaster Cell, there have been no reports of any casualties so far and rescue operations are underway at the site. However, many residents are feared trapped under the debris.
A fire brigade has been sent to the spot. Rescue operations are underway; no casualties have been reported so far.

The incident happened at Yeshwant Nagar in Vakola.
According to fire brigade, a large portion of the dilapidated building fell on an adjoining slum area where some people are believed to be injured.
According to BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation Control Room, some two-three families are feared trapped in Catherine Chawl in the slum area.
The building, located in Yashwant Nagar near Grand Hyatt Hotel in Santa Cruz, came down around noon.
