Patil, a student of VPM’s KG Joshi Arts College and NG Bedekar College of Commerce, is delighted and amazed at the same time that his wish for the library section materialised so soon. Patil who wants to become a teacher believes that blind students must be positive and help out others who are in need.
A dream come true for Shivam Patil who loves reading books, but being visually challenged hampers his passion to read most of the time. Patil had to rely on other people to read out books to him. This dependency is what triggered the 18-year-old to approach Pune-based Savitri Forum. Patil requested them to set up a Breaille section at his college library in Thane.

Savitri Forum has brought smiles to several visually challenged students by such initiative. Rashmi Pandhare of Savitri Forum talking to iamin shared that they set up their first Braille library in Pandharpur and then had plans to start a centre in Pune. But then Patil called them asking to set up such a section at his college library.
Pandhare said that the college also was very helpful during setting up of the section and provided full assistance for the Braille library. Savitri Forum has also supplied several books to the library.
Vijay Bedekar, chairman, VPM college, said that the college is proud of this initiative and will focus on improving the quality of books stocked in the coming years. The library to other visually challenged students also who do not belong to the college.
