Good roads are one of the basic civic rights of citizens and even then, Mumbaikars are far from enjoying this right. Any road that you pick, especially in the suburban areas, is broken, potholed or under construction.

The posh suburban locality of Juhu has got everything in one package—good colleges, lavish housing, beautiful beach but not without its share of potholed roads, dug-up roads due to unfinished work of the BMC ward and the list goes on.

Several spots in Juhu are dug up due to work that is being going on for more than a month now. This work is part of the installation of the 4G project and the residents are hassled by it. A.B. Nair Road, Balraj Sahani Marg and Jankidas Mehra Chowk are some of the places affected by it.
Juhu-based activist Mehjabeel Barwani said, "The work is an absolute inconvenience. It is dangerous as well—look at the huge cables that are protruding from the road; they can actually prove fatal."
Mamta Shukla, a resident of the same area, shared her annoyance, "There's always some or the other work going on. It's either a pipeline or now it is the 4G nonsense. And let's not forget the dust that's always around due to the constant digging up."

Dilip Patel, the local corporator, along with a few residents took a walk around these roads and agreed that they were completely messed up. Patel said, "It's in a bad condition. The work is related to 4G but it is still going on. I spoke to the concerned officers but there is no certainty as to when it will be completed."
