Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil seeks Srihari Aney's removal, writes to CM

Vikhe-Patil said that Aney had advised the elected representatives on how to work in the state legislative assembly and council. He added that his statements were maligning the image of the elected representatives.

Leader of Opposition in state assembly, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, on Friday demanded the removal of advocate Srihari Aney from the post of Advocate General for his remarks insulting the legislature and elected representatives.

Vikhe-Patil has sent an e-mail to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in this regard and has demanded immediately relieving Aney from the duties as Advocate General. Vikhe-Patil, in his mail, has said that Aney was shown by a private TV channel making statements which were irresponsible.

Vikhe-Patil said that Aney had advised the elected representatives on how to work in the state legislative assembly and council. He added that his statements were maligning the image of the elected representatives.

The leader of Opposition also pointed out that after Aney's statement on separate Vidarbha, the state assembly could not conduct business during the winter session for two weeks which was far from reality. He said that it was totally false that the assembly could not transact any business for two weeks after uproar in the state assembly over his statement on Vidarbha. He demanded that Aney who was making such statements time and again on public platforms should immediately be removed from the post of Advocate General.
