Pydhonie police officers probing the rape case of a 27-year-old woman who fell off from the terrace of a five-storey building, while attempting to flee from the two men involved, on Saturday said that the two accused had pre-planned to rape the victim in the godown of the building.

The duo had gone to great lengths to ensure that workers had vacated the godown before she was brought there by the main accused on the pretext of providing her with a job.

According to police, the victim was reluctant to leave her native place in UP. However, she was persuaded by her parents to go to Mumbai with the main accused, Santosh Kanojia, 26, a resident of Bhiwandi and a relative of the victim's ex-husband.

Kanojia allegedly promised the victim a job in a godown he claimed was owned by his friend Farooq Khan, 31, the other accused arrested in the case. Khan posed as the owner of the godown. The victim was allegedly raped by the two accused at the godown on Thursday night. She fled when the men were fast asleep, but slipped and fell from the terrace.

"The woman in her statement has revealed that she was raped by Kanojia at Bhiwandi and we have sent our team to search the residence and have also sent the clothes for forensic analysis," said Senior Inspector Deepak Kundal.
