With farmer bodies across Maharashtra starting their indefinite strike from Thursday, DNA tracks vegetable markets across the city to see the impact on vegetable prices in neighbourhoods. While vegetable vendors said that there was no impact on prices on Thursday, they said the impact, if any, would be felt on prices from Friday onwards depending on supply. Farmers have been demanding a loan waiver, implementation of MS Swaminathan Committee recommendations, and better remuneration for their produce and milk among others. They started the indefinite strike after talks with the government failed.

There has been a strike today but the vendors are currently using the stock that was available for purchase since yesterday (Wednesday).
