The shooting of Aamir Khan starrer PK was interrupted at the famous Kalaram Mandir in Nashik on Monday.

According to advocate Ajay Nikam, one of the trustees of Kala Ram Mandir Trust, the shooting began on Monday morning. "It's an iconic Hindu temple and filming or photography is strictly prohibited. Notice boards have been put up at various spots prohibiting any kind of filming," said Nikam.

When Nikam raised his objection during the shoot, the crew informed him that they had already taken the required permission from the temple trust on September 2, 2014, and one of the trustees had taken a fee of Rs25,000 and allowed them to shoot.

It was later found that there was some kind of miscommunication between the trustees. It appears, that the said trustee, who gave his verbal permission did not bring up the application in the meeting neither did he inform the other nine trustees. "Even the chairman of the trust was not aware of the permission being granted," said Nikam.

However, the trust board finally allowed the shooting, in what they said was a decision taken in the 'interest of Nashik'.

"A renowned actor like Aamir Khan was shooting at the famous temple in Nashik. We did not want the industry to get a message that Nashik is unfriendly. Also we thought, the temple would be given prominence important in the film. So, in the larger interest of Nashik, we dropped the issue and allowed them to shoot," said Nikam.
