The Mumbai University's third-year students of Bachelor in Mass Media (BMM) were taken by surprise on Monday as they were handed a wrong question paper at the exam centre in Powai's Chandrabhan Sharma College of Science and Commerce. As a result, their final exams were delayed by more than an hour.

The students alleged that the financial management exam was delayed by over an hour after officials informed them that they had been handed the wrong question paper due to a 'glitch'.

"We had already started writing the exam when the supervisor told us to put our pens down. We were informed about the mix-up. The correct question paper was distributed at 12.30 pm," said a student who appeared for the exam, on the condition of anonymity.

The exam, which was scheduled to be held from 11 am to 1.30 pm, ended at 3 pm. Students alleged that a similar incident occurred on Thursday (April 13) with those who appeared for the legal environment exam. Students were given a question paper from the old syllabus.

A few third-year BMM students of journalism also reported a similar issue at other centres, including KC College in Churchgate.

Deepak Wasave, Controller of Examinations, Mumbai University, said that while a few MA students complained of such an issue, there has been no complaints from the BMM students.
