Over 10 injured rushed to nearby hospitals

Over 10 people were injured and 12 others died as the four storey Sai Siddhi housing coperative society's building collapsed at Ghatkopar in the morning of July 25.

Over 10 people were injured and 12 others died as the four storey Sai Siddhi housing coperative society's building collapsed at Ghatkopar in the morning of July 25.

The injured were rushed to nearby civic-run Rajawadi Hospital, private hospitals such as Shanti Niketan Hospital, Satyam Hospital and Sapana Hospital.

The deceased have been identifed as Ranjanaben Shah, 62, three-month-old V Renuka Thak, 75-year-old Mansukhbhai Gajjar, 40-year old Amurta Thak, 40-year-old Sulakshana Khanchandani, 80-year-old Divya Ajmera, 14-year-old Rutvij Shah, Mikul Khanchandani, Kishor Khanchandani, Pandharinath Dongre, Krishi Dongre, and Manorama Dongre.

Those who sustained minor injuries include – Varsha Sakpal, 20, Geeta Ramchandani, 58, fireman Vitthal Shirgir, 35, Shubhash Chavan, 27, Riti Khanchandani, 46, Pradnyaben, 50, firefighter Ganesh Takde, 33, Pritesh Shah, Paras Ajmera, Auldicost D'mello, Dharmishta Shah, Abdul Mohammed Ismail Shaikh.

Relatives and friends started flooding the nearby hospitals to see their family members. One stretch of the LBS Marg towards Mulund was shut by the civic authorities for ambulances to reach the hospital and the the spot as soon as possible.

One firefighter and two residents were admitted in the ICU ward. Civic chief, Ajoy Mehta, who visited Rajawadi Hospital said, "We will first complete the rescue operation." Temporary shelters have been provided in three nearby Municipal schools with water and food facilities for the affected residents.
