No ferries from Gateway on Sunday, Monday

Participants and dignitaries for the Make in India week will be staying at various hotels, including the Taj opposite the iconic Gateway of India.

Ferry services from Gateway of India to Mandwa in Alibaug and Elephanta Caves will be unavailable on Sunday and Monday, due to the Make In India week, which commences today and will go on till February 18.

Zameer Ibrahim, a member of the Gateway-Elephanta Jal Vahatuk Sanstha Maryadit, said, "We have received a circular from the authorities concerned. Due to security reasons, ferry services will not be operated on Sunday and Monday." Another member of the association said, "The circular states that the sea at the Gateway of India needs to be clear of all boats and ferries due to security concerns."

Participants and dignitaries for the Make in India week will be staying at various hotels, including the Taj opposite the iconic Gateway of India. The last non-airconditioned ferry will be operated from Mandwa at 6.15pm, whereas the last air-conditioned sailing service will be at 6.45pm on Saturday.
