Of the many runners Mark Dharmai, the Para badminton winner, was one of the participants who represented an NGO, Differently Abled Charitable Trust (DACT). Mark never thinks that the odds which come his way would stop him from achieving success.

When the correspondent met Mark, he never mentioned about participating in the marathon, just to get his organization’s name in the lime light. He said that he is running to spread the message of clean and Swachh Bharat for the people. “It is essential for people to spread the word of Swachh Bharat. Also, along with out streets, it is essential to have a Swachh (clean) heart. I back our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the cleanliness drive initiative.”

Mark, who was born with a severe disability, wherein his legs were twisted on the outside, to a fisherman in Mumbai’s Chambai village in Bandra, is a true sportsman at heart who would fought with odds to mark his presence across the country and also across borders.
