The special general body meeting of NMMC passed no-confidence motion with 105 members of total 111 members of the House voted to oust civic chief Tukaram Mundhe.

The leader of House, Jayawant Sutar, alleged that civic chief created hurdle in development work and scraped important projects including marble work at Ambedkar Bhawan, solar plant at Morbe dam, and delay in giving permission to important construction works.

Sealing to commercial units across Navi Mumbai during five months period of Mundhe was also a reason which forced corporators to bring no confidence motion. Mayor Sudhakar Sonawane prevented the mayor from speaking and asked him that he would be given a chance to speak as the discussion will continue. Members also showed placard and showed displeasure for not giving chance to speak.
