A 25-year-old pregnant woman was rescued after she fell into a gorge of nearly 800 feet in Matheran on Monday. According to the Raigad police, the woman was pushed by her husband but after being rescued, she refused to file a complaint against her husband.

A police officer from Neral police station said, "We suspect that the man may have pushed the woman into the gorge due to a family feud. However, after rescuing her, she stated that she does not want to lodge any complaint against her husband." The police have recorded the woman's statement on video.

Vijaya Pawar sustained injuries but she is out of danger according to the police. Her husband, Suresh Pawar, is from Mumbai and works as a driver in the Mantralaya. The couple visited Matheran on Monday. According to the police, it is both Vijaya and Suresh's second marriage.
