Mumbai: Two killed and four injured in a fatal accident; eyewitness says accused allegedly drunk

Two people were killed and four others injured in an accident that took place on late night on Monday in Chembur, Mumbai.

Advocate Jahnvi Gadkari, who was driving an Audi, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was driving on the wrong side of the road.

She was returning after a dinner in Bhiwandi when her car smashed into a taxi in which the victim, identified as Mohammad Sabuwala, was travelling with his family. The incident happened on the freeway near Chembur. The driver of the car and Sabuwala were killed on the spot.

Gadkari has been taken to RCF police station but no FIR has been filed against her yet.

According to an eye witness on the scene, "Sabuwala was driving the car and another passenger were killed on the spot. The other four persons in the car have been taken to Saifee hospital and are in critical state right now. The lawyer was drunk and was driving on the wrong side of the road."
