Traffic movement was affected in Bandra (E) after a milk van overturned near the MMRDA junction early on Saturday morning. The person sitting next to the driver sustained minor injuries, traffic officials said.

According to the traffic police, when the vehicle overturned, the milk that was being carried in it spilled on the road, along with the oil which started pouring out of the van. The two liquids got mixed and spread on the stretch, affecting traffic movement.

According to the Vakola traffic division, the incident took place on the north-bound stretch. Since the milk and oil had spread on the road, there was danger of vehicles, especially two-wheelers, skidding on that stretch.

Officials further said motorists on the north-bound stretch, including those headed to Bandra-Kurla Complex, were inconvenienced due to the mishap. The fire brigade had to be called to help the traffic police and a layer of sand was poured on the affected stretch. Due to the mishap, slow moving traffic was reported for around 30 minutes. The Vakola traffic police rushed to the spot in order to manage the traffic.
