The MBA students of Thadomal Shahani Centre for Management (TSCFM), Bandra had been looking for avenues to help out the Nepal quake victims. They will be tying up with the Art of Living, an NGO which has been already involved in helping the earthquake victims in Nepal for relief and rehabilitation.

Ram Maheshwari, corporate adviser of TSCFM, said, "15 students from our first-year batch decided to do something for the people of Nepal. Since it was not possible for them to judge the needs of the people from Mumbai.

They tied up with the Art of Living, as they have volunteers doing fieldwork at Nepal already. After collecting data from nearly twenty locations across the country. They found out that plenty of relief material is available in the form of food packets, medicines etc. The major issue is distribution and reaching it to the deserving people. In fact food has started rotting in several areas."

Says Mr Ramesh Raman, CEO of Art of Living, "Our team has very categorically stated that the need of the hour is temporary shelters, while the affected people make efforts to rebuild their lives. As it is expensive and time consuming to send housing material from cities like Mumbai, our team has requested us to concentrate on collection of cash/cheques, which will be deployed for providing semi-permanent dwelling for the affected people of Nepal".

Thus, the TSCFM resolved to aid AOL in the collection of donation across the city. The aim is currently to collect enough donations to buy and build the required material before the onset of monsoons. Local contractors will be called in to build these structures. Once the structures are built, these students will then gather the residents feedback.

Students of TSCFM will be present at their two centres of collection, in Bandra West and Churchgate, while AOL volunteers will be present Marine Lines, Thane West, Bhandup East and Andheri. These centres will be active from 11am to 5pm all seven days of the week.
